Welcome our new designated term pastor Reverend Norman A. Michaud!

Norman Avril Michaud was born on Easter Sunday in Portsmouth, NH. He was baptized at North Church and confirmed as a member in 1967, where he maintained standing until moving to Denver in 2013. Norman attended the Iliff School of Theology, earning his Master of Divinity in 2016. He became an ordained United Church of Christ minister in 2018 through the authority of the Rocky Mountain Conference and Metropolitan Denver Association.

He has a BA in English, a BS in sociology from Keene State College, and a Master’s in Writing from the University of New Hampshire in 1976. Norman taught high school and college composition in Maine and New Hampshire and ran school-wide writing programs for high schools in both states.

He served as the Pastor of Northglenn United Church of Christ in Northglenn, Colorado, from 2018 until October 2021. He returned home to New England as Pastor of the Congregational Church of Putnam, Connecticut, where he served for two years.

His wife, Sarah Scherer, whom he met while attending Iliff, has practiced as a life coach and spiritual director. She also has a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology. Sarah also has a BS from Purdue University and a BA from Northern Kentucky University. She finds spiritual renewal in nature.

Norman writes poetry and fiction and works professionally in photography, video production, and desktop publishing. He recreates as an avid swimmer and is a tech geek who studies film and film history with passion.
