Pastor Reynolds

Reverend Carol Reynolds, Pastor

Previous Work

Prior to being called to First Church, Carol served as pastor of First Congregational Church, UCC in Cadillac, Michigan. While in seminary she interned at Parkview Congregational Church in Aurora, Colorado and in the memory care unit of the Villas at Sunny Acres retirement community in Thornton, Colorado. She also studied spiritual direction with the Benedictine sisters of Benet Hill Monastery. In her life before ministry, Carol worked in book publishing for 20 years, holding positions in editorial, inventory management, and warehouse operations at companies in New York City and Colorado.

Master of Divinity, Iliff School of Theology

Bachelor of Arts in English, Bethany College

A Massachusetts native, Carol grew up in Arlington and Reading and is overjoyed to have returned home after 30 years out of state. In her free time she likes to read, garden, cook, explore, spend time with friends, and dote on her cats Lily and Toby. She enjoys film and all kinds of music. Carol also loves to travel and is especially fond of Santa Fe, New Mexico. One of these days, she aspires to take up painting. As a pastor, Carol has a passion for small congregations like First Church, where “everyone knows your name,” and all are warmly welcomed like family members. She firmly believes that God is still speaking to us in the 21st Century and feels particularly called to reach out to those who have been hurt by church and seek healing and new ways of understanding and following Christ.

Two Scripture passages important to Carol

Romans 8:28, 38-39 We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose… For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
